1. Historic Pearl Street
As one of America's first and most successful pedestrian malls, The Pearl Street Mall is the heart of downtown Boulder. Local shops like the Boulder Bookstore are an excellent alternative to chain stores, and other retailers like Patagonia and Peppercorn attract visitors and locals alike.
2. East Pearl Street
To the east of the pedestrian mall lie several of Boulder's most popular independently owned stores, coffee shops, and eateries. Frasca is upscale dining at its finest, while Dish offers gourmet, deli-style food on the go. The Laughing Goat is one of Boulder's best coffee houses, serving up equal parts espresso, poetry readings, and local art.
3. Central Park
Ride a bike, lounge on the lawn, or picnic with the family—Central Park is as central to life in Boulder as it gets. The Boulder County Farmers Market, adjacent to the park, is open Wednesdays and Saturdays during spring, summer, and fall, and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMOCA) and Dushanbe Teahouse are popular destinations year round.
4. Village Shopping Center
This centralized & convenient destination has a variety of shops providing just about anything you may need. Highlights include the recently-added Sunflower Farmers Market, and Boulder's do-it-yourself crown jewel, McGuckin Hardware, with over fifty years of top-notch service.
